Understanding the crises

Before asking anyone to change how they work, they need to understand why. This course gives the orders of magnitude, the mechanisms and the links between the crises. No prior knowledge required, and no guilt-tripping.

What your teams will be able to do

Name the four physical dimensions of the environmental crisis and quote an order of magnitude for each.
Explain why an action that helps on one front can damage another.
Recognise single-dimension reasoning, including within their own organisation.
Place where the Earth system currently stands, and understand what a tipping point is.

Sorting the coffee cups won't save much, and your teams know it. This course sets priorities: it shows which actions carry weight, which ones merely reassure, and why the two are not the same. It closes on what nobody has explained to them yet: how their work will change as resources tighten.

Executives don't need to be told that action is required. They need to know on what, in which order, and at what cost. This course follows the logic of a real programme: measure your exposure, cut where it is effective, design differently, then prepare for what is coming regardless.

Place their organisation within current obligations, from national reporting to the Omnibus I directive.
Identify their activity's dependencies on water, materials and living systems.
